Topic: Communications Patterns: Why we don’t say what we really mean
Sometimes, the words we say are not exactly what we mean.
Behaviors, patterns or actions might say one thing….but our words could say something else. We all know that words are powerful and so is our non-verbal communication. After all, communication is 7% words and 93% body language.
And communication patterns carry over into teams. When you have 8-10 people on your team, you could have 8-10 innate patterns of communication. Some teams work for years on their communication practices trying to teach healthy habits only to have them be derailed from a lack of self-awareness related to patterns.
Everyone has these established patterns of behavior. But when did these patterns start? It can help inform our communication to understand our patterns and to comprehend how long they have been around. In our session we will uncover 4 patterns of communication and also how they are affecting us in the workforce.
